Bachelor of Science in Nursing
The BSN is designed for current college students who seek to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Graduates of the program are eligible to sit for the NCLEX-RN examination and may also apply for the Public Health Nurse (PHN) certification following licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
The program is designed for upper-division transfer students. If you already have a Bachelor’s degree, you are not eligible for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program and will need to apply for the Master of Science in Nursing-Entry Level Master’s program.
Application Requirements for the BSN-Nursing Direct Phase:
Enrolls in the Spring (Begins in January and Deadline is December 31st) and Fall (Begins in August and Deadline is July 30th) semester.

- Official transcripts from all regionally accredited post-secondary schools attended.
- Minimum GPA of a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale

Additional Application Requirements
All applicants for the entry-level Master of Science in Nursing Program must submit the following information as a part of the admissions process. Once these items are complete, the Â鶹´«Ã½Å®Íøºìadmissions team will review your applicant file.
The following Science and Math prerequisites must be completed with a grade of ‘B’ or better prior to matriculation to be transferable. Science and Math prerequisites must be completed within (7) years of starting the Pre-Licensure BSN Program.

- Personal Statement
- Please describe why you would like to obtain a BSN degree from Â鶹´«Ã½Å®Íøºìand what you can do for the underserved communities with a degree from CDU.
- Please address your interest in obtaining a BSN degree and your specific interest in attending CDU. Statements must be typed and may be single or double-spaced.
- All admitted students will need to pass a criminal background check prior to enrollment. The College of Nursing will contact you with information on how to initiate the process. A clear background check is also required for continued enrollment. This will include live scan fingerprinting in addition to background checks.
International Student Applicants
The University welcomes applications from all international students. Charles R. Drew University of Â鶹´«Ã½Å®Íøºì (CDU) is authorized under federal law to enroll non-immigrant students with an F1 Student Visa. The term “International Student” refers to any student who is not a permanent resident or naturalized citizen of the United States.
